A few weeks ago, I was thrilled to take part in Afrotech Fest 2018 at Rich Mix in Shoreditch, London.
Billed as:
A two-day tech festival by and for black people of African and Caribbean heritage.
it was a rather different tech conference experience, and I absolutely loved it!
I did a reprise of my Learn Elixir workshop which was very well attended, and ended up fielding questions from an eclectic selection of very knowledgeable techies.
Quite a lot took place over the two days, there’s a great summary over at Movemeback, excerpt below:
The two-day programme will cover talks, panel discussions, workshops and hackathons. These events will cover a host of themes including digital activism and campaigning, community, disability and tech, privacy and security, self-care/mental health in tech, education and public health.
Here are a few highlights of the event via Twitter.
