Northern Power Women Awards, and more!

March was quite the month!

The first quarter of 2021 has been full of twists and turns, to say the least so it was lovely to get some recognition in the form of the Northern Power Women Future List nomination.

The Northern Power Women Awards, which highlights the achievements of women and men working together to accelerate gender diversity across the north of the UK, was held to coincide with International Women’s Day, having been cancelled last year due to the coronavirus crisis.

The eagle-eyed among you will recall I was nominated for addition to the Northern Power Women Awards 2020 Future List back in early 2020. The Future List celebrates ‘Ones to Watch’ in the Awards – spotlighting female role models in the business world across the North.

Sponsors including Liverpool FC and Big Four accounting firm EY came together to back one of the largest awards celebrations of gender equality in Europe.

The virtual event had more than 900 people in attendance, with more than six million Twitter impressions.

It was an honour to be added to this list, and without any hand in the process; someone nominated me and to this day I don’t know who it was! It’s an amazing recognition for which I’m very grateful and a great stepping stone to winning one of the coveted Northern Power Women Awards trophies in future.

On the same day, I was also rather surprised to be included in this list of the Top 10 Black Women in UK tech, and at Number #3 at that!

Like I said, March was quite the month!
